Author Peter Zheutlin vividly retells the story behind his popular book about his audacious great-grand-aunt who became part of what a newspaper called "one of the most novel wagers ever made" -- a high stakes wager between two wealthy merchants on whether a woman could ride around the world on a bicycle. It was one of the greatest publicity stunts of the Victorian Age.
