Historical Holiday Program

December 2, 2007, 1:30 PM

Lifetime Maplewoodians Jeanne and John Bausmith explore the background of Christmas music and celebrations of the past at the Durand-Hedden House, Maplewood's Historic House Museum. Visitors will be able to listen to Mr. Bausmith play carols on the 19th c. melodeon while Jeanne describes their fascinating history. The couple will also show toys and holiday postcards that delighted children and adults alike 75 and 100 years ago. Also on display will be an early edition of the book "The Night Before Christmas." The setting will be the Durand-Hedden's Victorian-era parlor, which will be festooned with greens and decorations of that period.
