Join Durand-Hedden House & Garden as we kick off the 2025-2026 programming season on Sunday, September 28, with this engaging dual presentation on the history of herbal cures and the role of women in health and healing. These lectures will be given from 1 pm to 3 pm at The Woodland Parlor. Then join us at Durand-Hedden from 3 pm to 4:30 pm for refreshments and a tour of our beautifully revitalized herb garden.
Remedies from the Garden: Eighteenth-Century Women as Healers will be presented by two fabulous speakers: Karen Bloom Gevirtz, author of The Apothecary's Wife: The Hidden History of Medicine and How It Became a Commodity, and Lesley Parness, garden historian and writer.
