Durand-Hedden to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution as proud partner of RevolutionNJ

We are pleased to announce that Durand-Hedden House & Garden is now a proud partner of RevolutionNJ, New Jersey’s official organization charged with planning and promoting our state’s commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution in 2026.

RevolutionNJ's website says, "this is a once-in-a-generation opportunity for New Jersey to highlight its unique Revolutionary significance, the diverse stories of the people who lived at that time, and the lasting impact of our nation’s complex history."

Durand-Hedden is excited to play a key role in telling these stories. Stay tuned for more information as we plan for this important event.

Essex News Daily (News-Record) covers the CHS Accomplishing Artists exhibit

Durand-Hedden House & Garden thanks Essex News Daily reporter Maryanne Christiano-Mistretta for a wonderful piece on our exhibit of Columbia High School Accomplishing Artists. Students, family, friends, and neighbors enjoyed a wonderful display of student art as well as a casual reception in the Carriage House.

Delia Bolden students visit Durand-Hedden's Grasmere Park and Herb Garden

On Monday, April 22, Delia Bolden School kindergarteners explored Grasmere Park and the Herb Garden at Durand-Hedden. The students learned about the invasion of buttercups (lesser celandine), stood inside the hollow stump of the great ash tree near the driveway that we lost a couple of years ago (there are two animal burrows under the stump now), and learned about the many herbs springing up in the Herb Garden.

It was a pleasure to host these curious young visitors on a beautiful spring day.
