"Central Park and the Hudson River School" presentation by Sara Cedar Miller now available on video

Updated: Jun 8

Durand-Hedden's May 18 event explored the fascinating connections between landscape design and art with a presentation by Sara Cedar Miller, former Central Park historian, entitled Central Park and the Hudson River School, held at The Woodland Parlor. Space was generously provided by the Maplewood Division of Arts and Culture. Video of that presentation is now available.

Visitors were then invited to Durand-Hedden House to view our newest exhibit: Olmsted and the Hudson River School: Art in Landscape. Works by local artists were on display in the Carriage House, products of a Painters in the Park event sponsored by the Maplewood Memorial Park Conservancy. Music was performed by The Jackson Pellegrino Quartet, sponsored by Pollock Properties Group.
